People claim a lot of their usual work as Innovative, but our child is not at all one of them
here is the story how it all happened
Going back to the start of this project, we still remember that it was the result
of our smart effort to produce a mere Project Report in front of the “Company
Walas” during the recruitment season back in 6th Semester. Surprisingly quiet
a few people were impressed by our then formulated Problem Statement
(which was just a module of our Project as of now). So to start with thanks to
everyone who were impressed by our hypothetical work. It was then named
Desktop_JEC with the caption “JEC’s Intranet Forum” with an idea to
connect each and every student and faculty of our college on LAN.
A lot of things changed from 6th to 7th Semester when we became a bit more
mature and a bit more hypothetical things (w.r.t. our standards) were added.
The idea was that if something can happen over net on any site (Google and
Orkut most of the times in our case), why can’t it be done in our Project. A very
honest and sincere thanks to our mentor, project guide and HOD Prof.
Prashant Jain Sir, to keep our spirits high and keep us charged and motivated
by encouraging, criticizing and a lot of times challenging us for the completion of
our project. But, thanks to our social environment as well where we learn to
accept and forget challenges every now and then.
It was on the new years’ eve which was already spoiled due to our OOAD
paper in the coming days, the restlessness of not being able to celebrate New
Year made us formulate the first ever solid Problem Statement of our project.
Ideas that came that night were jotted down and simultaneously a probable
approach in databases was also being dreamt at that very moment. We would
like to thank RGPV for keeping so vague dates of exams, (else we would have
enjoyed New Year).
It was only after almost a month of examination that we sat down on our project.
And from February onwards we have a lot of people and incidences to
acknowledge.
We would like to mention and thank the genuine guidance and keen interest of
our All Time favourite Seniors Abhinav Dubey (Hoggard Sir)(Electrcal),
Anoop Khamparia Sir(IP), Manish Rai Sir(CS, Ex-PL, TCS) for helping
us materialize our problem and for the first time set up a realistic goal. We
cannot forget the keen intervention of Piyush Chaudhary (Pauwa Sir) and
Arjun Myne Sir to let us formulate the Business Stratergy behind our idea
and give us the Business Gyaan that they acquired IIM-C and IIM-L.
Thanks to Amit Gupta Sir (IBM, US), and Ex – PagalGuy, Puneet
Gangawaani Sir because of whom we made up our minds to keep the project
alive even after our college.
Meanwhile our juniors faced a lot of problems in their TPO retaled activities
which made us include a lot of Resume and TPO Cell solutions in our project.
Also sincere thanks to Bhavesh Sir and Netrix Team who helped us in
materializing our web related requirements.
The project was renamed as CampusFever.com now owing to the
superstitious of the huge success of a show of similar name that our team
organized way back in 3rd Semester. Though we are just eight of us in this
project but we would not forget the encouragement and hype our friends
Shanky Batra, Sandeep Burman, and Abhishek Rai have given us
throughout the project duration, together- We always make an Incredible
Team(IT). A special appreciation of Abhishek Rai over here for doing the
right thing at the right time, for the very first time in his whole life. If not his
LAPTOP our work couldn’t have been compiled and completed on right time.
Our confidence was shattered when we started facing problems with the code.
Thanks to Sameer Shrivastav Sir and Gunjan Badkul Mam who acted as a
supporting structure to our loosely linked code. Having been guided by them
was an unforgettable experience and also a case study on Errors of
MicroSoft.
An immense amount of patience and support was showed by all our classmates
who despite waiting eagerly kept their patience with held to bear with us every
time we explained them our project merely by means of Words, at the time of
our Presentation periods. We would specially like to express our gratitude to
all our faculty members for keeping patience with us. We are obliged to
Ms. Loveleen Kaur Pavla who always helped us in extending our deadline,
which was the need of our project. To Ms. Megha Jodape who kept us on our
toes, and because of whom we are able to complete project on time
Once again sincere gratitude to Prof. Prashant Jain Sir to mentor us and give
his time despite his tight schedule, to our Hon’ble Principal,
Dr. S.B.L.Beohar Sir, to give us a patient hearing and chance to implement
our idea.
Also, thanks to MicroSoft for MS Word, MS SQL, and
DOT NET Framework that made seemingly difficult task quiet easy. To
Google and Mozilla for supporting us in browsing.
Thanks to Ankur Shukla for all his brain storming sessions, ideas and suggestions, he’s a real stud
Last but not the least thanks to Saurabh, Puneet, Rizwana and whole of Safewlabs Teams who finally implemented the re engineered and commercial version of our whole concept on RUBY…. harnessing the true power of Open Source
Finally, thanks to CEO of Apple,
Mr. Steve Jobs who once said a line in one of his speeches which always
inspires us…
